A tragic incident occurred at Pilanesberg National Park in South Africa on Sunday morning, resulting in the death of a 43-year-old Spanish tourist. The man, who was visiting the park with his fiancée and two others, got out of their vehicle to take photos of a herd of elephants, ignoring warnings from his companions and other visitors.
The group had been driving through the park when they spotted three elephants with three calves. The man, eager to get a closer look, exited the vehicle and approached the herd. However, the matriarchal elephant became agitated and charged at him, causing the rest of the herd to follow suit. The man was unable to escape and was trampled to death.
Local media reported that the man was taken to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries. The rest of the group, all residents of Johannesburg, were unharmed. The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
