Khelif has faced intense criticism and bullying from opponents, coaching teams, and the International Boxing Association (IBA). She said, “I was born a woman. I have lived as a woman. I competed as a woman – there is no doubt about that.” Khelif accused the IBA of hating her, saying, “They know me very well… They hate me and I really don’t know why.”
Controversy Surrounding Eligibility
The IBA disqualified Khelif and Lin Yu-ting last year, citing failed chromosome tests. However, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) allowed them to compete, raising doubts about the tests and criticizing the IBA. President Thomas Bach said, “There is not a scientifically solid system to identify men and women.”

Khelif sent a powerful message with her gold medal win, saying, “My message to the whole world is that they should commit to Olympic principles and avoid bullying… I hope people will stop bullying and commit to the Olympic charter.”
